At Headhunters, we do not use any toxic chemicals. All products are natural, chemical free, and are enzyme-based. Upon checking and confirming a head lice infestation, we recommend that all members of the family get checked for head lice. We ask that you communicate with those around you about your infestation and encourage them to have their heads checked as well.
Using our Headhunters Method:
1.We try to kill most of the live lice by applying enzyme based products to the hair.
2. Once the hair is saturated with the enzyme, we use a nit comb to thoroughly comb the entire head until nits or lice are no longer visible.
3. After a thorough combing, we will manually remove any remaining nits. This process can take between 1-2 hours depending on the thickness of the hair and the cooperation of the person being treated.
4. Once we deem the head is nit/lice free, we put more enzyme in the hair.
Either procedure you choose to receive, we ask that the following guidelines be implemented.
Post Treatment Procedures:
1. The parent or guardian will be responsible for washing the enzyme product out of the hair 2-3 hours after application or before going to sleep or swimming.
2. The client will be required to have 1 recheck; between 3-7 days. During this time, we highly recommend using an anti-lice shampoo every other day until the re-check.
3. Avoid sharing hair care items, towels, bedding, clothing, hats, and headgear (like helmets for sports).
4. Combs, brushes, and similar items should be sanitized by either high temperatures (dishwasher) or freezing temperatures (freezer).
5. Recently worn clothing and bedding should be washed in hot water and dried in a hot dryer for at least 20 minutes before being used again.
6. Items which can not be washed or dried can be dry cleaned.
7. Clean floors, furniture, mattresses, and carpeting by thoroughly vacuuming or using a lint roller.
8. The seats in cars should also be thoroughly vacuumed.
